Federal tax credits for performing energy upgrades to your home are set to expire December 31st.  Nobody knows if the incentives will be renewed or not.  If you have been thinking of doing some energy upgrades to your home you may not want to wait.  The tax credits are good for up to $1,500.

Here is a list of what is offered under the Federal program.

Insulation

-Attic, wall and crawl/basement 30% of product cost *

Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning

-High efficiency central A/C = 30% of total cost *

-High Efficiency Furnace =30% of total cost **

-AFUE 95% efficient furnace= 30% of product cost *

-Geo-thermal heat pump =30% of total cost**

-Advanced main air circulating fan =30% of product cost *

Windows and doors

Efficient windows and doors =30% of product cost *

Water Heaters

-90% efficient gas water heater = 30% of total cost**

-Electric water heater 2.0 EF or greater = 30% of total cost**

Roofs

-<Metal and cool roofs = 30% of product cost *
