Overview
Eco Performance Builders not only works on homes, but larger multifamily buildings as well. There are rebates available for a lot of the multifamily buildings in the bay area. These rebates include
- Space Heating:
- Heat pump installations. Even when switching from gas to electric.
- Switch your building’s heating to all electric to keep your occupants safe and comfortable with state of the art heat pumps.
- Water Heating:
- Convert to high efficient equipment
- Convert to heat pump water heaters and go electric
- Insulation and air sealing
- Air sealing and insulation are two of the most cost effective solutions to increase the performance of your building.
- Ventilation:
- While there usually aren’t rebates for ventilation, we are always looking at this to assure you that the air quality in your building is good if not great.
- From HRV / ERV’s to simple spot bath fan ventilation, we have a lot of solutions to increase the air quality performance in your building.

Low Income Families & Tenants (LIFT) Pilot Program
The Low-Income Families and Tenants (LIFT) program offers income-qualified multifamily owners and tenants an opportunity to save money and electricity while improving quality of life for the residents.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Multifamily properties with four or more units and located in Marin and Napa Counties, unincorporated Contra Costa County, unincorporated Solano County, Benicia, Concord, Danville, El Cerrito, Lafayette, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Pinole, Pittsburg, Richmond, San Pablo, San Ramon, or Walnut Creek.
2. Meets the following income requirements:

| Each additional person, add | $8,840 |

Valid through May 31, 2020.
Qualified Units are Eligible to Receive:
- $1,200 per unit in addition to the rebates provided by MCE’s Multifamily Energy Savings Program
- Referrals to other programs to enable additional savings
- Low-cost, high efficiency heat pump appliances
- LIFT program measures in tenant units, including but not limited to:
- refrigerators
- air conditioners
- packaged terminal air conditioners and heat pumps
- smart thermostats
- LED lighting
- pipe insulation
- faucet aerators and low-flow showerheads
- heat pump water heaters

Multifamily Rebates & No-Cost Consulting for Energy & Water Savings
Energy Upgrade California’s Bay Area Multifamily Building Enhancements offers cash rebates and no-cost energy consulting for multifamily properties that undertake energy and water upgrades. The program assists in planning energy saving improvements designed to save 15% or more of a building’s energy and water usage and provides $750 per unit in rebates to help pay for the upgrade.
