I contacted Eco Performance Builders, (EPB) in June 2011 for an energy audit of my 1941 cottage.  After a discussion of my energy needs, I decided on a new hydronic heating system with an on demand water heater.  This was to replace a floor furnace that was unusable and an old tank heater.  A new ventilation systerm, vapor barrier and insulation under the house and in the attic were also to be installed.  Having just purchased the home, I was confronted with many overhwelming and confusion decisions, as well as apsects of construciton about which I knew either, very little, or, nothing at all.  EPB helped me to make decisions to suit myneeds, understand the designs they proposed, and complete a lot of paper work. At the start of the project, they walked me throught the process of what they would be doing and the timeline.  EPB began work on my cottage in September. They said it would take two weeks to finish.  I was very happy with the way they worked.  They were at all times profession,  on time, hard working, careful and they cleaned up.  I felt informed about what was taking place and learned a great deal in the process.  When I made a last minute decision not to use fiberglass insulation, EPB told me about environmentally sound options, like the denim insulaiton they installed.  Most importantly the job progessed pretty much as they said it would, and EPB finished at the end of two weeks.

After several months of having my new heating and ventalation system, I couldn’t be happier.  The house is a different place.  The update the Eco Performance Builders completed has converted a cold, stuffy cottage into a quiet warm home with fresh air.

Overall, working with EPB was a fantastic experience and I recommend them highly.
